PAY QUARTERLY

Mar · Jun · Sep · Dec

CREDITABLE

Not double taxation

The surcharge is credited against your final annual tax liability — but only if it's filed correctly. That's our job.

FAQ

Questions we hear every day.

What is the Landlord Business Surcharge in Trinidad and Tobago?

A quarterly tax on gross rental income for all landlords with property in Trinidad & Tobago, effective January 1, 2026. The rate is 2.5% of gross quarterly rent up to TT$20,000 and 3.5% once it exceeds TT$20,000. Try our free calculator →

When is the landlord registration deadline?

The deadline was extended to June 30, 2026 following public engagement. Anyone receiving rental income — resident or abroad, including agents collecting rent on behalf of owners — must register, with a one-time fee of TT$2,500.

Is the Landlord Business Surcharge double taxation?

No. The surcharge is creditable against your final annual tax liability when your year-end taxes are filed correctly — which is exactly what we handle for clients.

When are quarterly surcharge payments due?

Quarters end March 31, June 30, September 30 and December 31. We track every due date for our clients and pay on their behalf.

Do you handle everything, or do I still deal with the BIR?

We can handle it end to end: BIR registration, quarterly computations and payments, and year-end filing with the surcharge credited. You share documents once — we do the rest.
